Christian rehab is the response of the Christian community to the persistent problem of addiction that is present in today’s society. The goal is to help people who are addicted to alcohol, or any other substance.

The methods employed in Christian rehab are similar to other programs but they do incorporate a variety of healing and spiritual approaches.

Proponents of Christian rehab aim to empower those who need help and assist them in breaking free from the addiction that binds them.

12 Step of the Christian Recovery Program:

We admitted we were powerless over alcohol … that our lives had become unmanageable.

Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of GOD as we understood Him.

Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Admitted to GOD, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Were entirely ready to have GOD remove all these defects of character.

Humbly asked Him to remove all our shortcomings.

Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.

Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with GOD as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will, and the power to carry that out.

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and practice these principles in all our affairs.

The 12 step program employed by Christian rehab has corresponding basis on Biblical principles. Each of the steps above has a Bible verse that supports the principle. More so, Christian rehab also makes use of other methods to help people in need of counseling. They offer Scripture study and prayer.

Counseling (either individual or group) is suggested. There is a variety of Christian rehab centers in the United States today. All that a person has to do is to check which one will suit his needs and preferences. They more than welcome anyone who is in need of help to deal with addiction.
