Vision for the Armory
Since 1912, the Tyrone Armory has served as a training facility for our nation's armed forces. For generations, troops have prepared for battle here. It is fitting that it will continue to serve in a similar fashion. Our goal is to equip the next generation with the skills, abilities and faith it takes to lead our community, state and nation. You can read about Joshua House's mission and vision here.
The armory will be a safe place for youth to gather after school. They can enjoy the gym, get homework help and socialize at the cafe.
In addition, we strongly believe athletics is a natural platform to teach youth important life lessons they will need throughout their lives. For this reason, the main area of the Armory will be a multi-sport court allowing for activities such as (but not limited to) basketball, deck hockey, soccer, and volleyball. The space will also serve as a gathering place for worship and concert gatherings, athletic tournaments, and community events. There are offices on the first and second floor (see pictures below). A classroom-like office on the first floor and a large conference/studio/rec room on the 2nd floor will both be available for public use.
In total, the first phase of the Armory project will cost $350,000. Please prayerfully consider partnering with us to make these plans a reality for the next generation.
